HISTORY OF VERITH

THE FALL.

The fifth Primal Moon was formed of black precious metal as a source of energy and power for the Wyrmkings.  In the last climatic battle of the War of Hosts the moon Illitharn and Iccendria were wrapped in mortal combat, claw to claw -wing to wing.  they both let loose their greatest breath weapon and the resulting collision above the moon sent it crashing to Verith below.  The crash shook the entire celestial sphere.  Verith, the shattered remains of the great egg was once again shattered.  This time the the land broke and great rifts and chasms opened.  The great ocean spilled in to many of them, others lay open into the depths.  The moon crashed in the center of the Empire of Ruathyn and what technology, power, and glory that existed was wiped out; so great was the shockwave that all civilization across the land was turned to rubble.  The only place spared was Blackater-Port.  the wizards there had harnessed the power of several mantles that bring power to the city.

The black metals aura of magic slowly began to seep into the lands around the crash and change all that it touched.  The land, the creatures, the dwarves, even the air hung heavier. The rest of the 3rd Age was the climb once agin out of the dark ages for the surviors of the fallen moon.

The dwarves that survived claimed the new land as Melanbendoor and began to mine the black iron.  Trade between Blackwater-Port led to one of the first trade routes to reimerge and commerce and glory was again on the horizon.

The great chasms in the earth brought forth new evils that took hold of the land and war, disease, and opression became the norm.
