THE AWAKENING

As a result of the magical residue that permeated the lands of Verith over the eons; the  pure condensed magical essenceof the shards, mantles, and cores along with the energy from the fallen moon a miraculous wonder occured that brought in the fourth age of Verith.  The magical energy amassed to such a point that it passed into the anumals that lived on the land, in the air, and in the sea.  Those that fed on the grass, and slept in the fields were imbued with intelligence and self awareness.  The rose up from walking on four legs to two, their languages evolved and they formed tribes and nations beyond the herd limitations.  These awakened beings claimed lands and built cities that reflected their newly developing cultures.

There was still ingighting among the species as there had always been, but now it took on a more advanced form.  Weapons and magic were in the mix, as was diplomacy.  Over the centuries these issues were solved and new ones arose.  But along the way the culture and traditions of the Awakened grew alongside them.

Three great nations arose among all the many species that had evolved:

JAKARANTIA:  A loose confederation of Chiefdoms that lie between Skyoraskia, Gamale and the Sea of Caladrial.

GVENESTLA: A league of small kingdoms that have joined together to fight off the common enemies that have plagued them; namely the Ilthguard and Cendrum.  This league has advanced to a point of sea travel and  some airships that are used to patrol the tropical Empire.

THE LIVING THRONE:  The scattered tribes of awakened beasts living under the eye of the great dragon live independantly of each other in a state of cooperation.  They trade freely with all members of the Wyrmhold.

Other clans and tribes of the Awakened exist but have not manifested their presence as well as these three nations.
