Sarg was a great beast that used to live on this rough and jagged plateau before the falling of the moon.  Conquered by the warring nomad clans of Valusia that settled here to try to tame this land.  Over the centuries, the Valusian settlers began to awake with a glowing sapphire embedded into the left side of their necks. To those that removed the gem death came quick and with great pain.  A group of three wizards had come upon an ancient power that allowed them to enslave and control those who were marked with these sapphires. None were able to find a means of freeing themselves.  Over the centuries, the nomad began to call themselves by the name of the great beast and the Sargothians were born, they used this name to mock the freedom the beast had in its death rather than live as a slave while alive.  The Sargothians became a twisted angry people, wishing to vent their anger on the rest of the world.  Travelers through this region soon found themselves tagged with the glowing red sapphire in their neck, their will slowly being sapped from within.  As new slaves were gained, the original nomads were elevated to overseers and masters, whose job it was to train and educate the new ones in the ways of Sargothia and the Council of Three.  In modern times to become, a Sargothian is a curse and feared by all who know of its evil. In this wicked and evil Empire of Chaos none rule for long. The warlords are always vying for power, assassins, cutthroats, brigands and all manner of filth control the streets.  Law and order are determined by strength and quickness of the blade.  Many go here Seeking to redeem a bounty or gain treasure and fortune only to end up marked by “The Eye of Sargoth”.  Those who are marked are shunned in the rest of the known trade lands. Villages have been known to turn on families and friends that have the mark and burn them at the stake.  Caer Allwyn and Dorovar have passed laws that forbid any marked being from entering the land.  Those that are found inside the borders are sent to the Plains of Sarg and abandoned or just killed.

EYE OF SARGOTH: A mystical sapphire that is used to tag a citizen of the Council of Three.  The three wizards developed a process that binds the gem to the person’s life force.  Once inset it can never be removed without the aid of the Teeth of Zyphon.  The sapphire allows the council to know the exact whereabouts of each individual most anywhere on the surface of Verith (Extremely strong magic). When the Sapphire is removed, the soul of the victim is drawn back to the towers and is consumed by the Council.  The Council of Three sit atop the Towers of Raskas, watching their slaves do their bidding. The wizards are rumored to be lichs of extreme power.  Many shudder at the thought of what this country would be like if law and order were put behind the evil that lives here.

The founding father of the tribes of Sargothia was Sargoth the Vile.  He wore a crown of amber laced with coal.  Never wanting happiness for himself or his brothers, he was rather a morbid character.  His teeth were sharp like a tiger and his muscles strong like giants.  He fought with two fist knives shaped like jagged fans; he used no scepter.  He did however carry a 50’ whip at his side to punish those who so needed it. His justice was swift, mercy none.  He wore only a golden nose ring with one large opal that he himself constructed in the forge of his father when he was very young, His great boots could carry him many hundred leagues in a single day.  He was always in the thick of battle.
